Miscellaneous income includes payments made to subcontractors wages, rental payments, prizes, awards, or substitute payments in lieu of dividends. A 1099-MISC Form, reporting miscellaneous income, must be e-filed to the IRS and a copy must be sent to the recipient. Both forms must arrive by their respective deadlines.

IRS requires Form 1099-MISC to be reported on or before January 31, 2020, when nonemployee compensation (NEC) payments are reported in box 7. For a 1099 MISC Form with the amount reported in box 8 (substitute payment in lieu of dividends or interests) or in box 14 (Gross proceeds paid to an attorney), the deadline is February 17, 2020.
