Related expenses include tuition, fees, and course materials required for a student to be enrolled at or attend an eligible educational institution. Insurers must also file Form 1098-T for each individual that received a reimbursement or refund of qualified tuition and related expenses.

If you receive or collect tuition payments on behalf of an eligible educational institution, you may be required to file Form 1098-T. Also, Form 1098-T (Copy B) must be issued to each student.
